Language option including English
Getting high quality news in English in Switzerland is almost impossible if you're looking for more than fluff peices and discussion on the education system.
It would be great if NZZ offered English versions of the articles. You would instantly become the only source of Swiss news for informed expats. Its a real gap in the market.
This suggestion is not to facilitate the avoidance of learning the local language, most people don't have time to dedicate hours to working through a handful of articles a week.
With news it's important to be able to skim everything and dip into the detail of specific peices, in order to get a well rounded view of the current state of affairs.
Also I think NZZ already translate their articles. Having used the camera functionality on Google translate for one of their peices - and the translation was impeccably and eloquently written.
Many thanks for reading this suggestion, I look forward to seeing a response (hopefully in the addition of an English button to the app).
Maybe I am wrong! I have had my NZZ in German and wanted just that article translate into English because I am living in NZ and to make it accessible to someone else I had then the possibility to push a button to get it in English. Since then only the overview is in German and as soon as I klick on the article it becomes automatically English. Would it not be possible to have that changed, that if you want it read yourself it stays in German, still easier for me as an 85 year old and if that is not possible to have a button on whatever language you start to get it into the preference language again, always only for the article. I could not find this in settings. Please let me know, with best regards Gregor Morandini
Great idea - please edit the text so 'pieces' is written correctly 😁
